Kyle Rupp is a Research Scientiest in the TENOR Lab. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2018. His research traces the stages of processing across human auditory cortex and investigates how that processing is flexibly reshaped by a listener's goals and attention. He is particularly interested in how the brain maps incoming sounds onto abstract categories such as speech and music, and in using AI models of audio to better understand the computations performed by the auditory cortex.
